Ceannt Golf Society

Mountbellew Golf Club was the venue for our August outing and whether it was curiosity to see the new course or the short journey involved it brought out the biggest attendance for the month of August since we started playing as a society.

The course proved to be very popular with all the golfers and after a very close contest, Johnny Casey emerged victorious, runner up was John Collins, Category 1 winner was Bosco Smyth and Category 2 winner was Claire Keane. First nine was won by Philip Gunning and the second nine went to Joe Ryan.

Our next outing is to the challenging Castle Dargan Golf Club in Collooney, Co. Sligo and is the most important outing of the year as itís Captainís Day (Kevin Mulrennan). Following this we will be presenting the Martin Mulrennan Perpetual Cup to the Golfer of the Year. With a number of players still in contention for this prize we expect all members travelling on the day.
