Roscommon stages a mixed card of racing on Monday, 17th August, 2009 with the first race at 5.30 pm.
There will be flat and hurdle racing, with the final race a winner’s bumper. The feature race is a one mile two furlong fillies handicap and carries a prize-fund of €23,500 and is sponsored by the European Breeder’s Fund. The final four races on the card are made up of national hunt racing and they are all sponsored by local firms.
While there are three other meetings to come at Roscommon in September (7th, 8th and 28th) this meeting is generally treated as the last of the summer meetings and usually attracts a large attendance.
