Keadue mourns the passing of Kathleen Noone

The death occurred suddenly at Sligo General Hospital, on Saturday the 9th of June of Mrs. Kathleen Noone (nee McCabe), Carrowbeg, Keadue, County Roscommon, wife of Paraic Noone, Keadue.

  Her sudden death has evoked deepest sadness and profound shock over a wide area and has bereft the village of Keadue of one its last loyal and best-loved community workers.

  Born in Birmingham, Kathleen, alongside her husband Paraic, has been involved in all community projects and activities in Keadue from local Tidy Towns, a competition in which Keadue has won two all Ireland titles, to the O’Carolan International Harp Festival which has gone from strength to strength over the past 35 years.

  Kathleen possessed a deep faith and was also involved in all church linked activities throughout her life.  Her quiet demeanour and friendly disposition endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her and who now deeply mourn her passing.

  Her remains were removed from her home to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Keadue on Tuesday evening the 12th of June. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday following interment in Kilronan Cemetery.   Kathleen is survived by her husband Paraic, her five sons Paul, Declan, Patrick, Edward and Joseph her two daughters Marie and Catherine, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, her sisters, brothers, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces extended family, friends and neighbours. May she Rest in Peace.
