There was an excellent trade at Tuesdays sales for heifer and bull weanlings, with very brisk bidding and a 99% clearance of lots. The trade for suck calves were improved on the previous week. There was also a small number of cows with calves at foot on offer. Weekly sales continue each Tuesday evening with Suck calves sold at 5 pm and weanlings and suckler cows sold at 6 pm. Suck calves sample prices included - Charolais Bull 505; Friesian Bulls made from 90 to 215; Belgian Blue Bull made 430 and Simmental Heifers made from 370 to 430
Suckler cows sample prices included - 5th or 6th calf Hereford cow with heifer calf at foot made 1400 and 5th calf Aberdeen Angus cow with heifer calf at foot made 1250.
Bull weannlings made from 545 to 925 over. Sample prices included - Char 490 kgs 1270; 2 Char 268 kgs 930; Belgian Blue 525 kgs 1410; Simm. 380 kgs 980; Lim 385 kgs 970; Char 390 kgs 1315; Lim 345 kgs 1040; 4 A.A. 515 kgs 1090; Simm. 335 kgs 1000.
Heifer weanlings made from 475 to 760 over. Sample prices included - Char 305 kgs 950; A.A. 245 kgs 720; Char 405 kgs; 1068, 2 Simm 338kgs; 1060 and Lim 335 kgs 870.
Sales as usual this Friday April 13th for heifers, bullocks and dry cows. Special sale continues with bullocks on Friday April 20th. Booking at 2 pm this Thursday April 12th. Lambs, cast ewes in lamb ewes and ewes with lambs at foot each Wednesday 11 am.
