Hat-trick of wins for minors

Leitrim 1-4 Roscommon 0-15 


Roscommon recorded their third win in the Connacht minor league in Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday evening last. It was a comprehensive win for an impressive Roscommon side.

  The scoring didnít start until the 11th minute when Leitrimís Stephen Gilheaney was on target, but then Roscommon took over and by half-time they led by 0-8 to 0-1. A string of fine points from Ruardhri McManus, Ultan Harney, Diarmuid Murtagh and Ciaran Casserly helped Roscommon into a commanding lead.

  In fact Roscommon led by 0-11 to 0-1 before Leitrim scored again and the home side grabbed a consolation goal in the 55th minute from Phelim McHugh. 

  It was a good display from Gareth Carrollís Roscommon side. Best for Roscommon were Niall McInerney, Ultan Harney, Ruardhi McManus, Ciaran Casserley and Diarmuid Murtagh. 

  Roscommon play Sligo in Boyle in the next round of the league this Saturday evening at 5 pm.
