The reinstatement of a teaching post for St. Ronan’s NS, Taughmaconnell, has been welcomed this week by Deputy Michael Finneran.
The Minister said: “St. Ronan’s NS, Taughmaconnell, lost a teaching post in September 2009 due to the change in the pupil teacher ratio.
“That change meant schools lost out on a teaching post in the current academic year even though the school had increased enrolments by one, two or three pupils.
“The renewed Programme for Government included a commitment to allocate 200 posts between Primary and Post Primary levels in the current year and St. Ronan’s National school fell into this category.”
