Avoid to slash bus routes – TD Frank Feighan

Bus Éireann’s move to axe routes and jobs shows it’s high time that private operators were given a fair chance to provide alternative services, according to Deputy Frank Feighan.

“This is just the first phase in Bus Éireann’s cutbacks, with up to 100 routes being affected in the long term. We need a completely new approach to public transport which lets private sector operators on to the pitch. Fine Gael’s proposals on bus competition would provide more bus routes, when and where they are needed.”
